Tammy, a native New Yorker from Long Island, is the founder of Long Island Speech & Myo. She holds a license and certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York State. She is prepared to assist individuals facing challenges related to speech, voice, or sleep-disordered breathing, as these issues are frequently associated with sleep and oral motor functions.
Children: After several years of working with the pediatric population, it became evident that children with the most severe speech, language, and cognitive difficulties also with underdeveloped facial structures, poor eating habits, and sleep difficulties, and reduced attentiveness and energy.
Adults: These challenges can lead to pain that adults unknowingly experience later in life, such as jaw pain, migraines, and often facial pain.
Tammy quickly discovered a passion for treating the root causes of these problems, which ultimately led to the creation of Long Island Speech & Myo.
Tammy collaborates with children and adults of all ages as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes dentists, orthodontists, and osteopaths, all dedicated to effectively treating Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD).

Long Island Speech & Myo is a private practice in Speech-Language Pathology conveniently located in Manhasset, New York. We strive to provide patient centered treatment plans to all ages to optimize function of the orofacial muscles, aid in establishing dominant nasal breathing patterns , and rid of noxious oral habits. Our individualized myofunctional therapy programs provide exercises and behavior modification techniques to help stabilize orthodontic, surgical and dental results and lead you to a overall healthier YOU. A complete holistic approach is taken to achieve your therapy goals. We incorporate the use of unique modalities, such as The Buteyko Method, to assist in establishing optimal breathing patterns and proper oral rest posture. It is amazing what can be achieved when the orofacial muscles are working in harmony.
